Be A Better Business Owner

in my experience, there are a lot of business owners lacking daily habits that will ensure their continued success. I have comprised a list of habits and practices that I feel can help you become a better business owner.

  • Start every day with an intention, focus, or meditation.
  • exercise before it falls off the to-do list.
  • have an enormous breakfast: 1,000 calories, 30 grams of protein.
  • work on a top-priority business project first thing in the morning.
  • work on a personal passion project daily if not weekly.
  • network over coffee.
  • did I mention meditate to clear their minds.
  • write down things they're grateful for.
  • plan and strategize while they're fresh
  • check your email on your own time not when notifications tell you to.
  • read the news.
  • lets all unscheduled calls go to voicemail.
  • exercise on a treadmill, while taking a conference call.
  • schedules three non-work-related activities a week that nothing can interfere with.
  • Outsource Small Tasks to Virtual Assistant.
  • have a rewards system for achieving his goals.
  • categorize every task as a "project" or a "process" and then strictly manages them.
  • Never accept a meeting without a clear agenda and then ask how long they need.
  • keep folders for different tasks, makes sure her desk is always clean.

Here are some great insights I got when I asked my coach to contribute to this list.

  1. Drink water.
  2. Eat breakfast, read & Set 3 Most Important Things (MITs) for today. Make the list of what you want to accomplish, then tie action items to them quarterly, monthly, and then daily. keep my daily list fresh by re-determining the best use of time the night before
  3. Get the hardest work done before most people wake up.
  4. Build an accountability system for success - a system for tracking habits and performance
  5. Get Rest! Have an alarm to tell you to get to bed. Switch yourself off at night, THE NO NOTIFICATIONS METHOD WORKS.
  6. Saturday you should take off personal recharge, and then Sunday is deep reflection, feedback, strategy, and getting ready for the rest of the week.

Categorize your week and stick to the system. ( here is an example of my system ). this method of theming your days helps me to stay focused even when I am interrupted

Monday: Management and running the company

Tuesday: Product

Wednesday: Marketing and communications, growth

Thursday: Developers and partnerships

Friday: Company culture and recruiting

Quick Success Reminder: Winston Churchill started his day by working from bed. So your daily habits can fit you.......JUST MAKE THE HABITS AND KEEP THEM.

Well, that's it, good people, I hope this was helpful and you use this as a resource to help you get further in your endeavors.

Be Great.
